"If you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 6:17-18)
What we believe is more than important - it's critical. What we believe provides the basis for what we do and how we live. As a pastor I must be faithful to the Word, and all of our ministries as a church - Sunday School, Men's & Women's Bible Studies, Youth and Children's classes, etc. - must be solidly grounded on biblical truth.
The Word of God is living and active....It is Truth. It is not some ancient manuscript that contains outdated and disconnected stories. Instead it reveals God's power....God's holiness....God's wisdom...God's love and His salvation plan for all of humanity. And while it speaks to the 'whole of creation'....Thank God! His Word speaks to me individually, practically, and simply - that I might 'believe.'
