Kent Estep

Senior Pastor

Kent Estep has served as Senior Pastor of SC First Nazarene since 2005.  SC First Nazarene was Kent’s home church, where his parents, Morton and Carolyn, served in ministry for 38 years.

After graduating from South Charleston High School, Kent earned a degree in Business Administration and Christian Education from Mount Vernon Nazarene University, where he also met his wife Kelly.  The Estep’s have been married for 24 years and have two children, Ross (16) and Hope (14).

Kent became an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene (2003) after leaving a 15-year career in the business/finance field to pursue a call to full-time ministry.  Kent served in various volunteer and ministerial roles at SC 1st Nazarene before becoming senior pastor, including: layman, board member, Sunday School teacher, children’s pastor, daycare director, and co-pastor.

Kent enjoys playing golf, all kinds of sports, and spending time with his family.

Since becoming senior pastor, the church has experienced growth in every area, including the launch of F.U.E.L. -- a second (contemporary worship) Sunday morning service; increased community outreach ministries; and purchase of additional properties for future expansion.
